Electric Brigade
The Electric Brigade (EB) is one of the Navy’s premier popular music groups. EB entertained audiences around the world from 1979 until 2017 and is excited to return to action in 2026. EB is part of the larger, 35-member Naval Academy Band. The USNA Band is the Navy’s “Oldest and and Finest” band and is 174 years old. Acting as the United States Naval Academy’s musical ambassador to the nation, EB serves as a major public relations tool for the Navy and Navy Music. With its unique brand of high-energy performance, this elite group sets the standard in popular-music entertainment for United States Navy Bands all over the world.
Under the direction of saxophonist Senior Chief Musician Colin Renick, Electric Brigade plays music from both yesterday and today. Performances include everything from Oldies and Motown to modern Pop and Country hits…and everything in between. The group excels at reaching young adults, but appeals to all audiences. EB is well-suited for performances at high schools and colleges, state and county fairs, art festivals, and community outreach concerts.
At the Naval Academy, the band is called upon to entertain the Brigade of Midshipmen at a variety of functions ranging from formal occasions and protocol events to pep rallies. Annually, the Electric Brigade plays a role in the week-long festivities leading up to the classic Army-Navy football game.
In April 2026, Electric Brigade will travel to Knoxville, TN to support National Park Navy Week at Great Smoky Mountain Park. Then, in celebration of Navy Music’s “50 for America 250” initiative, EB will perform in Dothan, Alabama on June 30, completing Navy Music’s successful mission of performing for the American public in all 50 states between July 4, 2025 and July 4, 2026.
