Funeral / Memorial Services at USNA
The Brigade of Midshipmen Chapel, Saint Andrew’s Chapel and Miller Chapel, respectively are available only for funeral services of those who will be interred on the grounds of the US Naval Academy in accordance with their respective Faith Traditions.
Generally, Services are held Monday through Friday at 1030am.
According to policy, an individual is only eligible for a chapel service if no other church service has been celebrated elsewhere.
Please Note: According to the policies of the US Naval Academy, the Archdiocese for the Military Services and the Code of Canon Law, Catholic Funeral Masses may not be celebrated at the Academy. Funeral Masses are to be celebrated at the Parish of record. The deceased can then be interred and the burial rites will be supplied by Catholic Clergy at the Academy, or, with permission, a family priest or deacon.
Committal Services in the Cemetery and Columbarium are scheduled Monday - Thursday and 1030am and 2pm, and Friday at 1030am.
FLOWER POLICY:
Please note that Flowers cannot be delivered to the Chapel or the Columbarium from individuals or organizations wishing to memorialize an individual. Families of decedents may arrange for a maximum of two arrangements (A small table top arrangement and a standing arrangement) from an authorized vendor. All Flowers should be removed from the Chapel immediately following the Chapel Service. They may be placed on the ground near the interment site.
