Antonelli, Jay

A 1992 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Antonelli served as a member of the All-Marine Wrestling team where his accomplishments include an Armed Forces championship, 3-Time All-American honors and a 7th place finish at the 1996 Olympic trials. Through his time in the Corps, he served as an air-artillery platoon commander for the 3rd LAAM BN, Cherry Point, N.C., a public affairs officer with deployments to Baghdad, Iraq, serving as the media chief for Multi National Force-Iraq, and Kandahar, Afghanistan, assisting with NATO communication strategy, and as the head coach of the Marine Corps wrestling team. His personal decorations include the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, two Joint Service Commendation Medals and the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal. Major Antonelli retired from the Marine Corps in May of 2012 and served as a Professor of Physical Disciplines at the Naval Academy before being appointed the Director of the Physical Education Department in 2018.
