Yokosuka, JapanYokosuka Naval Base is located on the Miura Peninsula in the Kanto Plain region of Central Honshu, Japan. It is the largest overseas base in the world and is considered one of the most strategically important bases in the US military. Yokosuka is rich in history and is known as the gateway city in Japan. The city also has mountains and is surrounded by water to the East and West. The area boasts many popular attractions such as Mikasa Park, temples, and much more. Japan offers unique and diverse cuisines to explore. Additionally, traveling to different places in Yokosuka, such as Tokyo, is fairly simple due to the utilization of public transportation such as trains and buses.

Sasebo, Japan

Sasebo, JapanU.S. Fleet activities Sasebo is located in Sasebo, Japan on the island of Kyushu. For over 120 years, two great navies, first the former Imperial Navy, and later the U.S. Navy have called Sasebo home. The city and nearby area is generally rural compared to other locations, but it features natural landscapes including 99 nearby Island national parks. The base is strategically important in carrying out the defense treaty with Japan and ensuring peace and stability.

Manama, Bahrain

Manama, BahrainNSA Bahrain is situated in the Kingdom of Bahrain and is home to U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (CENTCOM) and U.S. 5th Fleet. Naval Support Activity Bahrain operates and sustains superior facilities and services for its tenant commands, their deployed assets and military members, DOD civilian personnel, and dependents living in Bahrain. It also provides security to ships, aircraft, detachments, and remote sites throughout the region.

 

Rota, Spain

Rota, SpainNaval Station Rota is located in Rota in the Province of Càdriz. Rota is the largest American military community in Spain and provides cargo, fuel, and logistics support to units transiting the region, supporting US and NATO ships. Some attractions are the beaches which line up the coastline, cultural events, and historic landmarks. The local language spoken is Spanish and provides a unique experience of authentic Spanish foods and culture.

Little Creek, Virginia and Norfolk, Virginia

VirginiaThe Hampton Roads Region hosts a significant military population due to numerous military installations, encompassing branches such as the Army, Air Force, and Marines. Recognized for its military-friendly environment, the area offers diverse activities and attractions catering to service members and their families. Norfolk Naval Station is the world's largest Naval Station and offers a myriad of resources and capabilities. Joint Expeditionary Base, Little Creek spans approximately 2,120 acres of land, situated in the far northwest area of Virginia Beach extending into Norfolk. Virginia Beach boasts notable features including a top-tier public education system, advanced healthcare facilities, the renowned Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center, and a versatile Sportsplex. With 38 miles of shoreline and 28 miles of city beaches, residents enjoy a mild climate and a wealth of outdoor recreational opportunities throughout the year.

 

Mayport, Florida

Mayport, Florida Naval Station Mayport, commissioned in December 1942, has grown to become the third largest fleet concentration area in the United States. It stands out for its dual role as both a bustling seaport and an active air facility. What sets Mayport apart is its operational setup, featuring a basin capable of accommodating 34 ships and an 8,000-foot runway equipped to handle any aircraft in the Department of Defense inventory. Notably, Mayport is home to Commander U.S. 4th Fleet, which was reactivated in 2008 after its deactivation in 1950. Situated at the mouth of the St. Johns River and the Atlantic Ocean, near the quaint fishing village of Mayport, Florida, and close to Atlantic Beach, Florida, the area benefits from a warm climate that facilitates year-round outdoor activities such as boating, camping, fishing, and water sports.

Everett, Washington

Everett, WashingtonNaval Station Everett is located 29 miles north of Seattle and nestled between the sparkling blue waters of Puget Sound and the rugged, snow-capped peaks of the Cascades. Ideally situated for exploring the entire Pacific Northwest, a little under 100 miles south of Vancouver, Canada, and a short ferry ride from the San Juan Islands or Olympic Peninsula. Naval Station Everett's close proximity to Seattle offers service members and their families an opportunity to visit Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square, and the world famous Seattle Space Needle.

San Diego, California

San Diego, CaliforniaNaval Base San Diego is located in San Diego, California and stands as the largest Naval concentration on the West Coast. San Diego has a mild mediterranean climate and is generally warm with dry summers and temperate winters. The area benefits from many local attractions and amenities which include beaches, dining, and entertainment. San Diego is characterized by having a young population, being a crosssection of Mexican and American cultures, and features teeming nightlife in the Gaslamp quarter. Areas of operation include the West Coast of the United States, as well as 4th, 5th, and 7th fleets.

Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Pearl Harbor, HawaiiPearl Harbor was established as a U.S. Naval Base in 1908, and plays a critical role in projecting American Naval Power in the Pacific Ocean. The primary function of Pearl Harbor is to provide berthing and shore side support to surface ships and submarines, as well as maintenance and training. Pearl Harbor can accommodate the largest ships in the fleet, to include dry dock services, and is now home to over 160 commands. Additionally, Hawaii is a fascinating destination with a mix of historical, cultural, and recreational experiences. Such as hiking, snorkeling, local dining, Waikiki Beach, and National memorials.
