Tutoring and Academic Support

A variety of resources are available to support your success in mathematics.

1. The Professor Theodore J. Benac Math Lab

Located in Chauvenet Hall 130, the Math Lab is the primary resource for assistance with core mathematics courses. It is staffed by mathematics faculty every academic day, from 1st through 6th period, and operates on a drop-in basis—no appointment is required.

For courses beyond the core curriculum, please refer to the following resources:

 2. Extra Instruction (EI) with Your Instructor

Midshipmen may schedule Extra Instruction sessions directly with their course instructor. Instructors will provide guidance on how to arrange these sessions.

3. Midshipmen Group Study Program (MGSP)

The MGSP provides a collaborative evening study environment led by experienced upperclassmen in coordination with the faculty course coordinator.

Visit the MGSP schedule (internal link only) for details.

4. The Center for Academic Excellence (AcCenter)

Located on the 2nd deck of the Levy Center, the AcCenter offers professional tutoring and academic support services. In addition to walk-in evening tutoring, the center provides resources to help you strengthen essential academic skills, including time management, effective study techniques, and overall learning strategies.

Visit the AcCenter website (internal link only) for details.
