Summer Internships

Do you want to explore real-world applications of your Mathematics coursework in exciting locations? 

The Mathematics Department  offers over a dozen summer internship opportunities with a number of civilian and military partners, such as

  • OPNAV N81 (The Pentagon)
  • Unmanned Aerial Systems with MITRE (Charlottesville, VA)
  • USCG Research and Development Center (New London, CT)
  • Naval Research Laboratory (Monterey, CA)

While internships offered by the Mathematics Department are focused for Mathematics Majors, Midshipmen in other majors are welcome to apply if their coursework compliments the internship.

Summer 2026

Eligibilility: All 2/C and 3/C Midshipmen are eligible to apply.

Application Timeline & Process

  • November 14th: Applications distributed to all Mathematics Majors.
  • Non-Math Majors: Request the application directly from the Department Coordinator.
  • December 12th: Application Deadline.
  • Following Winter Break: Internship offers will be extended to applicants.
